STITCH! by Kerchung!

Thank you so much for ordering a Stitch! pendant or ring. They are so much fun and we hope that you will enjoy messing around with them!

You should have received a very fine beading needle and some nylon thread alongside your jewellery. If you ever need to replace the needle, it is a UK standard size 12 short beading or embroidery needle - the exact one I have supplied can be bought in the UK HERE. Contact me if you are struggling to find one. The holes in the jewellery will probably accommodate a larger needle but this also depends on the thickness of the thread that you are using. I have sent you 0.2mm thick nylon thread but you can obviously try other threads and needles!

You will also have received a printed template to help you work out your first designs. If you want to print out more templates, please click HERE to download one. When you print it, don’t let your printer scale it and it should be fine for both A4 or US letter size paper.

FINISHING

You can weave the ends of your thread through the back of the finished design, tie off and then snip off any stray ends. Alternatively, you could try making a big knot on the end of the thread, but it will have to be pretty chunky in order not to slip through the hole.

CHANGING YOUR DESIGN

Once you want to change your design, you will need some small scissors or a scalpel blade to cut the threads and then you can carefully unpick the design. Take care not to scratch the surface of the metal with your tool - try working on the reverse side as much as possible in order to avoid this happening.

Here are the letters that you can form with your stitching. Some letters lend themselves to being squeezed a little, which might help you to fit slightly longer words onto your pendant. You could also try shapes and numbers!
