IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TARIFFS ON SHIPMENTS TO THE USA

6th NOVEMBER 2025

On 29th August 2025, the USA government removed the ‘de minimis’ threshold for imports, which up to this date meant that my products were able to be shipped to the United States without incurring any extra charges at customs. However, the change means that nearly every parcel arriving in the USA is now subject to Trump’s new tariffs, regardless of origin or purpose. Unfortunately this impacts US customers negatively and I am really sorry that this is happening. I normally ship through Royal Mail and will continue to do so, but in order for your parcel to not be rejected at customs, the parcel MUST arrive ‘Delivered Duty Paid’, which means that I, as the shipper, will have to pay the 10% tariff on the goods and shipping value at the point at which I pay for the shipping. Whilst I am able to absorb the 10% tariff on shipping costs, unfortunately I must pass the tariff on the product to the buyer in the form of a 10% price increase on my products for US customers only, in order to still be able to run a profitable business and still ship to your country.

For other countries that impose customs fees, I have always shipped ‘Delivery Duty Unpaid’ and made sure that the customer was aware that they might have to pay customs fees when the parcel arrives on their border. However, I do not even have this option for the USA and so I must pay it myself and pass the cost onto the American customer. Customers from the EU and other countries will not have to pay the 10% extra, BUT their parcel may still be subject to customs charges once they arrive in the destination country. I have declared this in my shipping terms and conditions.

HOW WILL THIS WORK?

Fine Jewellery

You will find that the products on the fine jewellery page now include a drop down selection box for you to indicate if you are a US buyer or not. This will add 10% onto the price of the piece so that I can pay your tariff in advance of the parcel arriving in your country. I will implement this policy for the foreseeable future, subject to review if the situation changes.

T-shirts, prints and other dropshipping products

The tariffs don’t apply in the case of drop-shipped products because these are printed on demand in your nearest facility, which in the case of US customers, will be in the US.

Porcelain Jewellery

This works differently from the other products because each of these is one-of-a-kind and my website doesn’t yet have the functionality to differentiate between different customer locations. At the point of purchase you will be asked to complete a drop-down form indicating whether you are in the USA or not, and I will email a further invoice to USA customers for an additional 10% plus a £1.00 admin charge. You should receive this email within two working days of your purchase. You must pay this as soon as you can or I will not ship your parcel. If you do not pay it in a timely fashion, I reserve the right to cancel your order and issue a refund.

PLEASE NOTE: If you purchase a piece of fine jewellery as a pre-order from me, with the additional 10% added onto the price, I WILL NOT be able to refund the 10% surcharge if the tariffs go down in between you placing the order and me shipping it out a couple of months later. Unfortunately it is a risk you have to take because I am not able to change my policies on a whim like the orange Taco seems to be able to. Similarly, if the tariff level increases, I may need to contact you to ask for a further contribution. We are a small business and we are trying our best to keep our products available to everybody.

Please know that I am HUGELY appreciative of your support and I am really upset about having to do this. I will try and find a more elegant solution to this problem as the situation develops. I have thought very hard about how I am going to be able to make this work and this is my current best solution. Please be patient and kind with me - it is a hard time for everyone.
